Default tuning suggestions for my ek9

ok guys,i'm not sure if all is running sweet or if i can get more out of my ek9, heres the spec

Fujitsubo Manifold.
Fujitsubo cat back exhaust system.
HKS Super Racing suction kit,
Spoon plugs.
Spoon leads,
Mugen thermostat
De cat pipe
fidenza lightened fly wheel and paddle clutch.
hamp oil filter

people have said my induction kit (HKS Super Suction) isn't great and an AEM would be better, also that a lightened flywheel isn't good either....which i dont really get,i thought a lightned flywheel would be better

its a b16b 97 ek9 with 60,000miles and full honda service history.if you guys have any ideas how i could get a bit more power i would be very grateful

its 182hp @ the flywheel on 99RON fuel

thanks

johnny

heres a wee pic for yous

You could make a bit more power with slightly bigger injectors and a decent tune on a chipped OBD-I ecu.

1st off, gorgeous car, your lucky since we dont have the CTR. The HKS filters tend to really suck, i'd suggest custom piping with an Apex'i filter, its the best filter on the market. F5 Fujita and injen make excellent intakes as well. you have a very nice setup so far. Chip the ECU with a Hondata s300 system, there is nothing like hondata.

yes there is. it's called crome.

to the OP, if you want to make power look into cams. rm m22x, s2s2, something with a big vtec profile cause those b16b's like to rev. and a toda header. then tuning.

s300 > chrome.

if you want an alternative, try neptunes new system. Why not go with some buddy club spec 4 cams?

if i put in the spec 4 cams i take it i will have to buy the full kit, all the springs and that? also could i run such an agressive cam with standard fueling or would i have to uprate fuel rail and regulator?

how do you figure? the system is only as good as the person tuning it.

yes with any big set of cams you'll want to upgrade your valvesprings and retainers. fuel rail and regulator can stay stock, but you may need to upgrade injectors depending on power levels.

what all this tuning non-sense lately.

Unless you have alot of headwork done, you wont get much by tuning it. Your just wasting money

the tuning you're talking about is different from what the OP is talking about. he's asking what other mods he can do that will give him power. he makes no mention of tuning the ecu.

then he should re-word the name of the thread, i came in here armed with my thesaurus of "tuning" Not "slapping" or dropping "bolt-Ons" like im 17 again.

Its part of n00b training, if you cant edit your posts for a more clean enviornment, you shouldnt be able to post "help me tune my car" but really its about installing a LCD to watch porno in the dash, I use this site for a reference, not a -Nice a informational thread, only to be let down by a thread about altezzas.

CHANGE YOUR TITLE NOOB!

i didnt have a bad day at all, welcome n00b, just read around 1st, you cant just jump into the flaming pit of hell without asking the correct questions.

When you ask somebody how to tune, its a totally seperate thing than building an engine, TOTALLY.

So then you attract tuners, versus engine builders. You could be a whizz at tuning an engine, but have no idea how to change a wheel bearing.

So im just saying, you can go back and edit the tittie and change it to something like, "what should i do next"

or what kinda engine work would be best.

However you do have a clean car i will not lie to you
However please bro, just please dont mess up your vehicle, its nice, read as much as you can before you just jump into things. It sounds like you dont know much yet, Just because you have nice parts, doesnt mean you know what your talking about.

Honestly i only ask the stupid questions right now, because there is so much info on here, pretty much everything has been answered, except the stupid ****.

pretty much this is the cliff notes;

Tuning a guitar, is not the same thing as building one.
So when you ask somebody how to tune a car, they would assume your adjusting fuel maps/timing, AFR's and things like the rev-limiter.

Nice car

You're talking about adding more mods to make more power, however instead of that I personally think you should get a program like hondata and some slightly bigger injectors, and get it tuned by someone who knows what they're doing. Other than that, I would maybe go with some more aggressive cams and an intake manifold/tb combo.

Cams, Mild Headwork, a high end header ( toda, spoon, mugen, ect ) slightly larger ingectors, Intake manifold, Big throttle body, cam gears. You would be surprised what you could pull out of the motor. b16b isn't the most common motor in the US so I wouldn't go with alot of american made parts, unless your sure of the hp/tq gains.
BTW NICE hatch
