trunk opening problem..FAST

Default trunk opening problem..FAST

ok so i just put a vis cf trunk lid on my ek, now when i go to pop it open in the car it flies up like....whoa..super fast. probably because the cf lid weighs alot less, but does anyone ahve any idea what i can do??

Just deal with it or get some less powerful springs that hold the trunk open, simple as that.

have you tried putting things on there and catapulting them ? thats what id do before i fixed it.

not yet, but if i get bored who knows. anyway how do i get those stock springs off?

Hmmm..dunno about that because I have a hatch, but if you have a car with a stock spoiler you may have the optional "stiffer" trunk springs from Honda they put on some cars with spoilers to help lift that extra weight.

yea i did have a spoiler, i guess ill just disconnect the latch cable for the time being and rock the non functional trunk. i dont have back seats anyway so i can just toss crap back there. thanks for the help

Hell Im sure somebody would trade your stiffer springs for some less stiff ones. Ive heard of people not being able to find the stiffer ones at all even from the dealer.

just cut those springs out............. i have to lift my stock trunk without any damn helper springs in there.
