troubleshooting PW's
I just installed a passenger side regulator and motor that I purchased from a member of the site. My car is a 96 ex. When all was installed here are my symptoms...
Drivers window works correctly (It worked before)
The passenger window will only roll up from the passenger control. It rolls it up slowly and will only go up halfway then stops. It will not roll down at all...
Using the drivers side window controls, nothing happens (up or down)*** Child safety turned off***
I connected a battery straight to the motor and it will go up and down, but the motor still seems weak and won't go all the way up.
It seems I may have a problem with the motor (weak), and the controls. I was wondering if any of you have had similar symptoms, and if you have found a resolution. I also need to figure out if I need to send the motor back. Is there a way to test the motor to make sure it is ok, other than powering it with a battery?
Thanks in advance!

Re: troubleshooting PW's (craigaria)
First, it's possible that the passenger window is binding in the side rubber channels and is slightly misaligned. Check the regulator/window alignment and spray some silicone-based lubricant into the side channels.
Second, I think that the passenger switch and possible the corresponding switch in the driver's door is faulty. The circuitry is designed so that these two switches are inter-dependent on one another. Remove both switches from the panel and perform the continuity tests recommended in the 96-98 Civic service manual:
