How does the rotor look? Misfire can also be caused by a bad coil or igniter unit, so also test them.
Any CEL codes?
Is the ignition timing adjusted to spec?

I still believe the timing is off even though you were able to drive the car. That happened to me before. D series motor are sketchy when it comes to getting the timing set right.
As for the 310 injectors, don't bother putting them in if you are running a stock ECU. That will flood the motor and you will have another issue there.

Re: Trouble Shooting help Misfiring D16z6
I just bought a 95 honda civic with the risk of not knowing what the previous owners had done to it. I have no idea when and what was or has been replaced on it. It has the D16z6 in it. When I test drove it, it seemed to go fine but then started to misfire about 4 days after I bought it. I checked the plugs and wires, they seemed to be good. I'm thinking either I goofed the connection when I checked the spark plugs or it could be the cap and rotor. How much would a used or new cap and rotor cost?
It did have a CEL when I bought it. I did the paperclip trick and found it was throwing a few codes: (I believe I have the right codes attached to the numbers)
12 - EGR
17 - VSS (I knew about this one)
22 - VTEC pressure valve
41 - Primary oxygen sensor heater
I did read up on the D16z6 and found that it does not have an EGR?! Does that mean the ECU is not for the D16z6? I have been reading up on the VTEC pressure valve. Maybe I could pull off that whole unit and clean it up. I don't know where to start with the primary oxygen sensor heater. Would replacing the ECU with one made for the D16z6 solve anything other than getting rid of the EGR code? Perhaps giving me better gas mileage? (keep reading)
It also is getting really poor gas mileage. Since there is no EGR (which I heard helps with mpg), how do I find out why the mileage crummy? I peeked under the car and found that the catalytic converter had been removed. Could that be throwing the whole system off and giving me poor mileage? (by removing the catalytic converter isn't that supposed to help things out?)
I have been reading these threads and they have seemed to help with what I need to look for. Any help would be great! Thank you!
