Default transmissions

will a d series auto trans from a 96 civic fit in a 94 civic with a d series motor

i'm pretty sure any d series transmission can fit any d series engine.

Yep. But 6G auto trans are not as reliable as 5G Civic ones.

will it fit? yes. will it work? no. It'll bolt up, but it wont shift. eg trans has 2 lockup solenoids and a mechanical kickdown cable. ek has additional shift solenoids, a main and countershaft speed sensor, and linear solenoid and doesnt have the cable.
