Transmissions : 2000 Ex Auto into a 1997 Ex Auto?
Has anyone actually installed a 2000 Ex automatic transmission in a 1997 Ex automatic or any other 6th generation Civic?
The word is that it is fully compatible. The used part locator site, www.car-part.com, lists several 2000 Ex transmissions as interchangeable with my 1997 by Vin number look-up.
I have the 2200 page Helms dealer manual for 1996-2000, and the electrical schematics are different between the 1996-1998 and 1999-2000. I cannot confirm that the 2000 will plug directly into my 1997 harness.
My 1997 Ex's automatic transmission has gone out and I have a line on a 2000 parts car. I should do a manual conversion. I will eventually, but I just need this thing up and running soon.
Or... anyone in the South Louisiana or South Mississippi area have a good low mileage 1997 Ex automatic laying around for super-cheap or free?
Thanks.
