transmission swap wiring
 

im looking at ejoner's transmission swap write up and its really damn good and i get everything except 2 things

do you lengthen the wire on the harness that leads to the backup light switch on the transmission and lead it into the cabin and attach it to the AT harness?

and also

aside from the auto to manual mount i have to buy from hasport

which other mount do i need?

he says

"You will need the front manual transmission mount. Im not sure if you need the actual rubber mount but I got mine anyway Il let u guys know when it goes in."

whats the rubber mount hes talking about?

On the shaft/bolt there is a bushing that slides over that. That bushing attaches to the frame.

I JUST did this I haven't put my new stopper mount on either, just arrived yesterday. I ordered a new one from majestic Honda, wasn't too bad of a price either...

Yes that piece is different on a manual, that one wont line up with the transmission and still fit in the same spot for the front stopper mount.

You need the bracket from a Manual transmission, I think majestic honda has them without bolts for 23 before shipping. I bought a bunch of other bolts and stuff but my total was $65 shipped.

I recommend making a checklist of all the bolts and such you will be missing and just order it all at once to save on shipping and stuff. I ended up buying more than I needed but it made putting things in so much easier when you know you have the right bolts and they are all new.

can anyone supply me with the part number for this piece and the rubber thing that goes along with it?

if you still have the rubber mount to the frame from your previous tranny, you can reuse it. Just take the nut off the end and transfer it onto the new bracket.

I dont think hes taken it off yet, so ya if its in good shape just reuse the mount.

top left black thing = trans
top red wire = backup light wires from harness
red wire from trans = backup light plug on trans
black thing on bottom = auto shifter
blue thing = plug from after you remove AT shifter

do you run wires like this for the backup light switch to work?

Ok take out the AT shifter completely, dont need anything off of it.

Run two wires from the middle bottom two pins on the original harness plug to the clutch pin. Then run two wires from the top two pins to the reverse switch on the top of the transmission.

When you push in the clutch it connects the clutch pin and allows your starter to work.

When you put it in reverse it connects the two reverse wires together making the reverse lights light up.

what guage wire do i use for the clutch wires

and for the backup light wires?

I used 12 gauge speaker wire (both are pairs anyway), I think bigger than 14 and your ok.

i just noticed the plugs that plug into my pedals are gone um...anyways to buy them from a OEM honda parts site?

or would i have to find a private seller?

personally I wouldn't worry at all about wiring in the clutch safety switch. I skipped out and haven't had any problems at all. You just need to be cautious and remember about that.

there are good writeups there but theyre kinda fragmented

thats all you have to remember. It would lurch forward as its trying to start, possibly lurching into a car/pole in front of you. = bad deal.

unlike if you had the switch wired, it wouldn't even turn over until the switch is activated.

i see ill probably run it without a wire until i can find a plug

or ill just say that and eventually just get used to it not having a plug at all

my primary goal is 2 make my civic dx 93 run but i currently ran into sum wire harness issues.

I swapped my d15 b7 engine from a AT into a MT, so do i need 2 change the indash harness to a manual one??
