Default transmission question.

does anyone know of (or does one exist) a JDM HYDRO SOHC trans with factory LSD and shorter gears than the 94 civic EX tranny i need to get rid of?

this tranny isnt cuttin' it, and its begining to grind third.

i dont think that there is such thing. i know that my jdm h22 came with lsd but i've never heard of any sohc that are made. you can probably ask some local shop or call one that know about jdm motors and trans.

I think the JDM D15B tranny comes with factory LSD and has gear ratios about the same as the EX/SI SOHC trannies.

I concur about the gearing, but I think the LSD was an option.

I've heard that the LSDs seem to self destruct over about 140-150whp though. If you've got big dreams might want to check into something else.

you could just go with quiffe. but i doubt you would want to put in that kind of money into that trans.

my old boss actually has a hookup with DINAN BMW, and is sponsored by quaife, he said he could get me one, but i know its still gonna be hella cash... more than buying a D15 tranny out right.

hmotorsonline.com carries them but are out of stock right now. I belive they are something like 420 shipped.

LSD did come factory on the JDM D15b motors.

140-150 WHP it destructs? you have got to be kidding me. I wouldnt trust what someone has "heard". everybody "hears" everything. A buddy of mine had this tranny on a semi build D16z6 with CP pistons and Eagle rods, pushing 14-16 lbs of boost, he dyno'd at 274whp/241ft-lbs.

here's the link to the video to prove it https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=773450

so id use it.
