just bought a gsr tranny today. it was pretty dirty after cleaning everything i realized no stickers, no numbers, nothing. I've had 2 gsr transmission and all of them had the vin number posted. but this one doesnt have one. the one i have has a green circle. I wonder what tranny that is? and the ones i used to have which were junk has the red circle.

any clues?

I think the transmissions before xxxx year didn't have tags. They just had a white sticker with a bar code with numbers underneath in a different location if I'm not mistaking.

yeah i think i know what you're saying. i believe obd1 had sticker and obd2s had the actual vin riveted to the tranny.

is it really important to have those metal brackets on top of the engine? do we even need them?

Which "metal brackets" are you referring to?

the ones on top of the tranny on the first pic. i believe one is for the clutch hrydraulic hose i dont know what the other one is for!

Not sure, all i know is its missing from my tranny lol.
