Transmission problems on a 97 civic ex
my 97 civic ex .... manual transmission makes noises ... It had about 57k miles on it and my transmission just started making noises when i downshift... from 3rd to 2nd and slow down... but when i start from 0mph.. and accelerate u hear normal.. but then again i downshift and i don't know what that noise is from its like when i pop the clutch it just grabs with a wierd noise...... so i thought it was the clutch.. i put a new clutch.. but the noise still continues.. any clues??? could it be the flywheel?.....thanx for the help

your synchronizers might be shot... if they grind really bad you might have to drop and rebuild the tranny..

first try changing your tranny fluid with MTL (if haven't done so)...need about 2liters....
as far as fixing it its cheaper sometimes to get a good used tranny then rebuilding..
