Transmission Problem, not sure if synchro or gear
First, I'd like to thank Mista Bone for his write up on his D series tranny site. My friend and I sucessfully (kinda) installed the gearset from a 88-91 Si tranny into a 93 CX casing with the addition of the CX 3rd for the Si 4th into his 93 CX w/ hybrid motor.
OK, here is the problem, after we installed the tranny into the car, every gear was perfect except for 2nd. 2nd gear will NOT engage. If you try and release the clutch, it grinds and kicks it out of gear. From my past experience with B series trannies, this would be a synchro problem. I do not think that any of the gears were installed improperly since all of the other gears work fine. Do you guys think its a Synchro problem of a 2nd gear problem? Let me know what you guys think, thanks. I also posted this in the Tech forum
Edit: Forgot to mention that the Si tranny came out of a car that wasn't running at the time. So we didn't know if everything worked properly or not. The synchros weren't checked though.

Re: Transmission Problem, not sure if synchro or gear (BlackDeuceCoupe)
Ok, hopefully that is all that it is. This is only my 2nd time dealing with a D series tranny. B's are cake now. Luckily we have 3 extra D series trannies lying around.
