Default Transmission problem

I got 00 civic EX AUTO with 38000 miles on it. Transmission giving me problem. It is not changing gear when it supposed to. When I accelerate it will change gear around 3000 RPM unless I hit gas hard.
When I am driving on 4th gear and hit brake to decelerate it will not go in to 3rd gear till 1800 rpm and I have to hit gas hard to change gear to 3rd.

Do you guys think its my ECU. What else could be wrong?

How's your transmission fluid level? Automatic transmissions can be real finniky. Drain old fluid and remove old filter and replace with a new filter and new fluid. If that doesn't help, check your TPS (if automatic Hondas are equipped with them). If all else fails, might be your ECU.

I already change fluid. What is TPS?

TPS = Throttle Position Sensor

Again, I'm not entirely sure if Hondas are equippsed with them. Jeeps have them and were always the problem with the automatic transmission not shifting right.

Maybe the accelerator pedal has an adjustment nut and you can adjust that and check if that helps. Maybe the pedal is off spec and you think you are on WOT when you really aren't.

[QUOTE=Jaydeep]It is not changing gear when it supposed to. When I accelerate it will change gear around 3000 RPM unless I hit gas hard.

its not going to shift out at higher rpm unless you are at WOT... an automatic tranny is not made to shift out at redline everytime

[QUOTE=Jaydeep]When I am driving on 4th gear and hit brake to decelerate it will not go in to 3rd gear till 1800 rpm and I have to hit gas hard to change gear to 3rd.

dude, driving like that on an auto will tear some **** up..i know i used to have one and used to drive like that also...
