I have an 1992 Civic automatic and when I switch to any gear I hear a squeak and I get that same sound wen the car downshifts.......I want to know is that a really bad thing and would I need a new transmission soon?

Squeak eh?...usually you would here a grind, which means your synchros are bad, try changing you tranny fluid and see what the outcome is.
