transmission problem
I have been having a problem recently with my car falling out of second gear. While cruising in second, the gear will begin to grind and the shifter is forced out of the gear. This problem only recently occured after installing an ACT aftermarket clutch at 72k miles. It seems to happen mostly between 2k-3k rpm, and will often grind when shifting hard into second gear. The car is a 2000 civic ex and I turbocharged the car at the same time as I replaced the clutch. It seems like it could be a problem with the transmission itself but it seems wierd that it began as soon as I replaced the clutch. If anyone has any imput or has experienced anything like this please let me know. Thanks.

Re: transmission problem (drex00)
Time to replace the tranny, its done for. D-series trannys are a dime a dozen, literally. Its not uncommon at all for them to break down, all pre 2001 trannys tend to break easier, becuase after 2001, honda started carbon coating their tranny gears to make them tougher. Whens the last time you heard someone in a 2001+ civic complain about popping out of gear or grinds?
