Default Transmission help.

Hey guys
I have a 2000 civic ex with 193k miles. Awhile ago the transmission started rattleing, but would go away if the clutch was pressed, asking around people have said that it is the clutch and pressure plate, so I replaced that, with a new TOB, clutch, pressure plate, pilot bearing, and rear main seal, and salve cylinder. Unfortunatly the problem was still there. After talking to another mechanic, he had said that it was the main bearing in the trans, so rather then deal with just that bearing, i replaced the trans with another one from a 1995 civic cx and a new right side CV joint(The ex trans cv joint was jammed inside the trans and i could NOT remove it. not even with a hammer chisle.) Well its still doing it. Im out of ideas, the only thing that I could think is that the TOB is rattleing around on the clutch arm.

This weekend I will be pulling it apart again for one last try. Can anyone give me any ideas?

Symptoms: Noise when the clutch is released, goes away when the clutch is pressed. Can hear the noise get worse as the car goes through the gears(Driving). And sometimes it will not do it, sometimes it will do it quietly, but most of the time its loud as hell.

If anyone can help please feel free. I tried searching, but the TOB I have is BRAND new well, has about 2k miles on it, but did it since new. and the old one did the same.

transmission input shaft/mainshaft bearing is most likely (theres actually one of about 5 bearings in the transmission that could be bad, but generally its one of the 2 mainshaft bearings. Fix the EX transmission, the CX is geared super long, sucks for acceleration.

So your telling me that BOTH transmissions have the same thing wrong with them? The EX trans is kinda trashed. The right side cv joint is jamed in it and I CAN NOT get it out.

As 94EG8 said, it's most likely a transmission problem. It's a long shot, but you also may want to check whether the noise is coming from loose or cracked exhaust heat shields.

100% not a loose or cracked ehaust heat shield. I can feel the vibration through the clutch pedal when my foot is slightly pressing the clutch

Yep, its a common issue. Especially now that most of those transmission now have 200,000+ miles on them

If its just the CV joint thats the problem keep working on it, i've seen one that took me a whole day to get out, the CX transmission should be a last resort.
