okay but in the manual it say that you need to fill it up until the fluid come out of the drain plug that you check. it tells you that you need to see that as soon as the fluids starts to come out then thats when your are full and to seal it back up.

Re: transmission fluid qustion? (hondaon18's)
lol so you overfilled it, it starts spraying and people tell you you overfilled it, now you are arguing with people? buy/borrow/download an owners manual, or google that ****. its probably something like 2-3 quarts since a dseries tranny is two quarts and and si tranny isnt a whole lot different in size.

Re: transmission fluid qustion? (hatchnideas)
okay i understand im not trying to argue but when the i was swapping the engine on to my hatch i had to take out the axles and when i did that all the fluid came out everything. so when i went to honda and asked them how much it would be to fill up the tranmission because everything came out it was empty . so then the honda people told me wrong . because they told me that 8 quarts should be enough to fill it back up. but i didn't but 8 it stopped at 5. okay but im going to look it up at the chiltons manual to see what it tells me.

It takes 2.3 quarts, definitely not even close to 5.

You don't need to look it up. You already have the correct information from the members here. The transmission does not take anywhere near 8 quarts. Are you sure you are using the proper fill hole, and not the VSS?

I am sorry dude but 5 quarts is way too much i just took my friends SI tranny out and it took 2 1/2 quarts, i am wondering how the hell you fit 5 quarts in that small thing, anyways Honda just juiced you for like 20 dollars because i know that **** is like 4 dollars a quart, try opening it up from the draining plug and draining it.

Re: (Historyg)
Well even if you put that much in your tranny...I'm sure it didn't do any damage...Just drain out the fluid and pour in about 2.5 qts...3 qts at the most...you should be good.

ok so everyone already told you it was too much fluid, but what i want to know is what hole did you use to fill it up and how fluid is squirting out of a hole with a plug in it? i don't care how full it is, it shouldn't be squirting out of the fill plug.

It could be either the regular fill plug on the side or the VSS hole.

I doubt he has an auto tranny...mostly all b16a trannys are 5 speed.

I know, but maybe the dealer thought he had an auto and gave him 8 Quarts of ATF nothing know he had a manual.
