Default Transmission Catastrophe

I'm in need of a tranny guru for this one!

I had just redone this transmission not to long ago about 2 months to be exact. Last week it just let go and exploded. Literally internally exploded. Now, I know your not supposed to mix and match shafts (ex. d16z6 mainshaft and a d16y8 counter.) But mom and dad were getting pissed off about the car being in the garage blah blah blah. So stupidly to get them off my back I used an s20 mainshaft with an s40 3rd gears and an s40 countershaft with an s20 2nd gears. Also I used the s20 Diff.
Not thinking I just used the s20 case because my s40 interlock was destoyed from the dummy I bought it from for parts.

Fast forward to now and my FD is completely sheared off and the ring gear is slightly chipped. Will an s40 FD and a s20 diff really wear that quickly?!?!? I dont really beat on the car much. It sees high RPM's but never any burnouts. I know burnouts will kill your FD but I didnt even do 1 in the whole 2 months after the rebuild. I do have an s40 Diff laying around, can I use that or will this end in the same result?
Any insight is much appreciated! as im still learning

Also the case is scuffed up with rings on the diff side and a small gouge next to the CSB

Whatever you use for ring gear and countershaft make sure they came from the same transmission, not just the same type, but the same transmission. You should have used the matching ring gear.

Btw, the ring gear bolts are left hand thread, also loosen them all a little at a time first or you'll tend to strip most of them.

Okay. I might just source a new trans for now as once again mom and dad are gonna get pissed about the car being in the garage lol. I know I shouldn't have but expected it to last longer.
