Default transmission/bseries swap question (Searched, read faq, etc)

ok im swapping in an ls vtec (b18 block) into my 96 civic coupe.

im looking for either a b16 or gsr tranny, but do i need a hydro or cable?

and does hydro or cable only have to do with the clutch?

thanks

you need a hydro tranny. 92-up is hydro trannys. hydrp tranny , means the clutch gets actuated by hydrolics rather a cable.

the 92 gsr trannies are cable, and i think same goes for b16's

i dont know what year they made the switch, but for sure 94+ are all hydro
