trans went out today :-( D15Z1
I was on the way home in my 94 hatch
I was topping third out and goin to fourth
normal driving conditions when all of a sudden the car felt as if I applied the brakes for a second
it then would roll as in nuetral
I could hear a slight noise as in a bearing or something when i release the clutch that I havent heard it do before.
SO luckily it happened close enough to roll on home.
I shut the car off and it wont go into ANY gear except reverse
so I crank it up and let the clutch out slowly and it will go in reverse but is very difficult as if the park brake is on
wont even go into any other gear.
what ya guys think?
what happened?
so Im thinking I dont wanna spend time and effort rebuilding or even swapping the tranny
IM pretty mechanically inclined but not real sure about sensors and ecus
I have installed a couple turbo setups
before this happened I was already thinking of ditching the d15z1 and swapping in a stock
Z6 or Y8 and throw a littel boost to it

You should be able to use your stock harness on a swap. It is probably a better idea to use your stock harness and extend wires as needed. Should be somewhat straight forward if you plan on dropping in a z6 motor.
Can you put the car in gear when the car is off, or are you locked out whether the car is on or off? Just making sure.

pretty much wont go in any gear at all running or not , I can sometimes wiggle it into reverse and when I release the clutch SLOWLY it will "try" to move backwards but it feels as if the parking brake is on lol something in there is toast or stuck
