so i read on h-t many posts thru search and what i came up with was that my throw out bearing was going. I heard a chatter when the car wasn't moving while in nuetral with the clutch engaged...i disenguage the clutch and the noise dissapears. the noise happens randomly thruought driving and goes away when disenguaging the clutch all the time. because im a noob i took my car to a mechanic and told him to chang the clutch. He later told me that it wasn't the clutch at all and that it was something inside the transmission. He also said it got louder when you turn the steering wheel to the left. WTF?!?!? it in the transmission and is affected by steering ?!?! yeah....Can any of you h-ters figure out whats actually wrong with my car so i don't get screwed over by a money thursty mechanic?

it does get louder with speed but it doesn't always occure. and yes in all gears but it seems quieter in 4th and 5th. Don't hear it at all in reverse

you may have an input shaft bearing goin, if it goes away in 4th, it may be a counter shaft bearing. either way w/o me hearing, you may need to do some exploritory surgery. how is the fluid level in the tranny?

i don't really know how to describe the sound other than it sounds like a bearing thats broke and spinning fast. Fluid is fine thou. The sound doesn't completely dissapear in 4th it just gets quieter

could be a countershaft bearing. take it to a good tranny guy and go from there.

how would the steering affect any of those bearings thou?

hahaha~! i know exactly what you're talking about. i'm experiencing this as we type... i belive i troubleshooted to the input shaft bearing and have yet to take it apart or take it to honda.
