trans question
i am not sure if this is the right forum, but i will try it here anyway. my to friends both have 2000 si. evrytime they race my friend with i/h/e/intake manifold, clutch and ultra light flywheel and jdm itr trans always wins the 1/4 but in 4th gear the other si with i/h/e and 95 gsr trans starts to pull.
1)what are the ratio's (becuase i thought the itr has same first 3 gears as si and 4th-5th are the smae as gsr)
2)is he losing high end becuase of his flywheel

Re: trans question (JSPECEX)
The B16 gears are shorter making the "off the line acceleration" better. The GSR tranny although has a better top end. B16's are great for all motor application's, but I would rather have the GSR tranny simply because of the better highway gas mileage and top end.

Re: trans question (JSPECEX)
If I'm not mistaken, the GSR trannies are both Hydrolic. At least my 94 GSR was hydrolic. Some of the old B16's had cable trannies I think, but I've never heard of a cable GSR tranny. So in that case, the GSR trannies should be the same.

Not that much of a difference. Switching to a B16 tranny from a GSR unit, I could hardly notice any difference in gas mileage on the freeway.
