Default trans prob

ok im new to hondas. what can I say im a supra and rx7 owner. but yes i acculy blew a d16y8 motor in 4 days with no mods and no redlineing and good oil in it too. but my cheap *** boss got me a d16y7 motor and i put it in today but now the trans is very hard to shift into 1st and rev. but when moving its ok bec i rev match and speed mach all the geers and well its not the smothist but its ok. btw I didnt remove the old motor from the car and they put in a new clutch and just left it as a long block on the ground and i had to put it in. any one got any ideas about this. also i put 10/30 oil in the trans??? is this right??? some one was saying that the clutch disk could be backwards

If the trans worked fine before, and using the same trans, ya I'd say an install/clutch issue, it kinda sounds like that anyway. Check your shift linkage and make sure not bent or anything goofy.

I would say check the shift linkage and make sure it's not overtightened..

Though you said..it's hard to rev? It's more than just the clutch if that's your problem.

PS: What setups were u running on ur supra and rx-7? Years?
