Default trans gear crunch

My gears sometime crunch when I got from 1st to 2nd. I'm fully awake, did not sift sloppy, and did not do anything wrong. It only happens some times. Like maybe twice in a month so I can't duplicate it.

What do you think? What caused it?

i have the same thing, i brought it to honda, and they told me that after a honda reaches about 80k miles and is driven requently, its normal for grinding a little, i dont belive them totally but this is what i do, i would say try to get in the habit or slaming your clutch all the way back, i find that the slightest bit that isnt full pressed can cause it to grind... also make sure you dont yank the shifter too hard, becasue you could get ahead of your foot. basically go easy, and if it acts up more, get your master and slave cylinders checked, then your clutch, and then the synchros.

If it becomes a problem, just double clutch when you're upshifting.

2 major causes...........

weak torn engine mounts

and if SOHC, the 1-2 shifter fork. They break easy.

On a hard driven SOHC, and I do mean HARD, it should be replaced one a year.
Guess I drive HARDER than most though.
