Trans code for VX MT D15Z1
Does anyone know what the code is for this tranny and where it is located on it?
My bro has a VX and I think someone replaced his stock trans for a DX or CX,, I am thinking of putting the car back to stock and taking it off of his hands for the sake of good gas mileage.
Can someone steer me in the right direction as to the differences of the tranny's, I know gearings were different, but were any of them used on the same? I think the Si's and EX's used the same,,, not sure of the CX and DX,,, but what did the VX use and how can I identify it. I'll need this knowledge if I go to pick one out or if someone shoots pics over to me from online or whatever!
TIA!

Re: (Bense)
I should have thought to ask you Bense, but I found that the code was the p20, and instructor24 says it's the s20. I am positive it is the p20, but surely only you will know.

Re: (nighttrain33)
I did a little more searching on it I know that all the trans that I have seen have a p20 tag on them that can be seen from the top including the Si/Ex. I know that the stamps on the case are marked s20/b000 for the Si/Ex and s20/a000 that is for the non Ex/Si. As far as telling the differance between the trans for the vx/cx and dx/lx I am not sure. Maybey the part number is on one of the 2 sticker tags on the trans I will check it out tonight.

Re: (Cookie)
You've got to open it up to tell, the only way you can.
The CX/VX has a significantly longer 5th gear. You can find the numbers if you do a google search.
