Its pointless to quite honest. You are going to swap tranny's and do a mini me for what reason? The hp you will make is still going to be low and you will still have amost nothing for torque. My advice would to save up for turbo or a swap.

y8 trans is better due to the forks i think it was?
As Mr. bones he is the self-proclaimed guru of transmitions

While turbo your going to make more power that is a given however unless your omni man the chances of you making better power with the b16 are slim at best d16 if it were me!
There was an article about this in Honda tuning magazine a while back however when talking about n/a there is no replacement for displacement so if your going to do n/a on a Honda “swap” I would go 1.8+ or not even bother!

I've had both trannies, it's not worth your time to swap them out. If you want to stick with d-series, pick up a gearset and an LSD.

weather it is worth it or not hell if i know or care?
just saying what people have said on this forum which dose not mean a great deal i know!
however talking gears your best bang for the buck would be to swap your FD however if you have the "money" then please change your gears!

Easy cowboy, I didn't mean to direct my answer towards you, it was for the op. Yes, the shift fork compositions are different between the transmissions, to erase your doubts. Would it make a huge difference (or a difference at all - to him), no. He's talking about swapping heads, so his original tranny should be just fine for his application.

y8 forks are made out of steel, vs z6's aluminum. Aluminum snaps, steel has a little give.
