Trannys Making A weird noise some1 help?

Default Trannys Making A weird noise some1 help?

ok i put a 95 gsr in my eg coupe it was open header for a while and when i put my exhaust on i heard what sounded like my tire rubbing on the fender after popping the hood and looking it was coming from tranny. it makes a weird tire to fender noise when its in gear. my friend said my differential might b goiing out any ideas??

I dont think ive heard of diff's going that often in most tranny cases.
Might be the Input shaft bearing. To confirm this, have a friedn sit in the drivers seat and press the clutch in and hold it. If the sound disappaers (while car is running) when the clutch pedal is pushed in, its likely the ISB (input shaft bearing), which is a common issue.

i do believe it stops when the clutch is pushed in. it also sa\ounds like its making a spiinning sound...

im having the same issue with my dseries tranny how hard is it to replace that bearing besides droppin the trans

Replacing the input shaft bearing is pretty easy once the trans is dropped out.

The first time i did this i followed this tutorial:

yeah same things wrong with my car. also the ******* i bought it from told me it was a gsr tranny, well i typed the vin number on the tranny into carfax and it came from a 99 integra gs. Bastard. But im just gonna keep driving it for like another month or 2 so i have enough money just to get another ls trans.
