Default tranny swap question

i have a d16y7 AUTO ( ) and i was wondering if a tranny from a gsr will bolt up to my engine.
please no "get the full swap" since i dont have the funds for a full swap and i can get the tranny pretty cheap.

thanks for info.

A b-series tranny can not be put on a d-series engine. But you can take the money that you were goin to use for the transmission and just do a full y8 swap. A y8 swap is very inexpensive, or go the with y8 transmission, head, and manifold.

I found my ex tranny for 100 bucks with clutch from a friend.

yea, what he said... a b series tranny wont work on a d-series engine.

Find an EX tranny from a junk yard, or see if anyone is selling one here in the classifieds section.

Depends on what kind of standards you have. Personally, I hate any D-series trannies. But an EX/Si tranny is pretty much the best you can do as far as transmissions go on a D-series.
Be prepared for a long azz 3rd gear.
But it doesn't matter. You've got a D16y7 (stock?), so it'll be slow anyway. But your best bet for improvement over the auto tranny is the EX/si tranny.
