Default tranny swap

my 88 civic has a 4speed manual transmission, i do alot of interstate driving and i dont like how the car only has 4speeds. i'd like to put a 5speed motor to my d15, but i dont know what kind of transmissions will work. thanks

You might want to try the EF/CRX forum for more info. Basicly you have a 88 car which uses a odd number of splines on the output shaft. You'll need a 88 dx or si tranny to match up with your flywheel. You'll also need a set of 88-91 dx/si hubs and axles since the 4-speeds use a different set much like the HF CRX.
