Default tranny situation!

well i didnt see a tranny tech section so dont get mad if this is in the wrong section haha ... a local guy is getting rid of a gsr tranny and wants a b16a2 tranny, well i have one on my ls and i want longer gears and wouldnt mind getting the gsr, mine is a 2000 and so is the gsr, im not exactly sure if he just wants to do a straight up trade or not, the only thing is, i have a little grinding in 3rd and i think the syncro is goin on it, how much do b16a2's go for usually, because im willing to throw down a little extra cash. thanks for the help guys.

i've seen em anywhere from 350 to $800, I usually see the 2000 Si trannys (b16a)go for about 800 on ebay, i got lucky and got a 2000 (b16a) tranny from a guy from a race team for $300 but the 3rd(same as you) was grinding so i took it out and i am replacing the 3rd gear syncro. The syncro kit was $150 (with a discount from honda) and i'm adding an lsd as well to my fully built type r head on a gsr block ..........Can't wait to bang on it when its done!
