make sure ur axles arent popping out... jack ur front end up and turn ur wheel all the way left and all the way right... see if they're coming out of the transmission at all... that happened to me a while ago and i thought it was my tranny but it was one of my axles that was all fukced up..

well the axle wont physically make the shifter come out of gear. if that is what's happening. The OP, is the shifter coming out of position? It's supposed to move a little back and forth when you accelerate/decelerate, thats normal.
The OP's situation usually happens when there is a low fluid level in the trans. Or the wrong fluid. Drain out your old, fill in some new HONDA MTF. Hope that it fixes it. If not, then check shift linkages, etc. Make sure your shifter rods arent bent. Make sure your motor mounts arent worn, and making the engine and trans move more than they should and pulling the trans out of gear...although this is probably not too likely.
If the fluid method doesnt work...then you wasted $10 and need a new trans.
