i looked at the numbers on my tranny, its on a sticker and it says S20 -2235329
does anyone know which tranny this is originally made for?

just recently swapped out my orignal tranny, the ratios are different. I'm wondering which tranny this is.

i drive a manual sohc vtec motor (d16)

Look on the side of the tranny near the drain plug...look for P20 A000 or P20 B000

Hard to say, most d series trannies were s20's. Check the link in my sig. for mista bone's tranny page...good info.

You won't be able to tell exactly which tranny it is by the A or B - they'll only tell you whether the tranny is from a 1.6L Civic or a 1.5L Civic. You'll have to calculate the gear ratios by checking RPM vs. mph.

based on the mph vs. gears, i have the dx/lx tranny then...great, got the wrong tranny in my car then. im sure most of you guys will tell me to get the stock tranny back...but many of my autox friends tell me to keep it.

EX = 3000 RPM in 5th at 68mph

yup, i did the calculations already...now im debating if i should keeep it or not...im not a drag racer, and autoxer so i don tknow what should do with it

shorter gears are better for autox...optimum autox setup would be EX trans with SRR 4.9 FD and quaife LSD

thats not an option for me right now..its either a stock ex or lx tranny...and i dont now if im good enough to be going through 3 gears for autox.

I would disagree . . . in most cases, you'd be shifting a lot with that increased final drive, especially if you're running tires with a smaller overall diameter. You'd need a raised redline to make the most of short gearing like that on an autocross course. The 6500-7200 RPM stock D-series rev ranges just don't cut it.

since my car is turboed, i make pretty good power by 5k rpm or so it seems...stock exhaust might be holding me back on the high rev ranges

i dont see this anywhere...i might not be looking hard enough, can someone show me a pic on what its supposed to look like or where it is? is it engraved or sticker?

It is cast into the housing right above the filler plug.
