tranny removal because of gear slipping,
ok well me and a buddy of mine were driving in his 95vx with a b18c motor.. he got his motor install about 3-4 months ago and put about 8000miles on the motor since he had it.. he also had a brand new $400 act extreme stage 2(i think) installed at the same time of the swap. .. well anyways we were cruising at 70 or so in fourth gear and dropped it into third and the tranny/clutch wasnt grabbing at all .. it made like a grinding slipping noise. so we had the car towed to his house and i took the tranny out for him.i never did it before so i figure it was a good learning experience and let me tell you it was soo easy. anyways when i dropped the tranny i didnt really know what i was looking for just trying to find something unusual because i didnt think the clutch would wear out in 4 months. but i noticed that there was no grooves left in the clutch. so thats gotta be the problem then right??also i noticed when i looked up his car he didnt have the flywheel plate .. and the rubber boot on the clutch slave cylinder was missing as wheels as a rubber cap then goes on top of the tranny.. also one tranny bolt was missing and one was stripped..... i hope my motor doesnt come like this ,lol. anyways please give me any info. on what i should replace and why his clutch wore out so soon. im gonna find him a exedy clutch because i cant see him buying another act and have it wear out on him so soon.
