Default tranny question

I have a 97 civic ex 5-speed and I was wondering if anyone with the same year car is having the same problems. When my engine is cold my clutch sort of chatters. I would put it into first gear and when i release the clutch pedal and give it gas the car would shake pretty bad. I have to engage the clutch until it is just starting to grab and then give it gas to avoid the shaking. However when it is warmed up it grabs fine. The car has 50,056 miles and i sure the clutch is still fine. Could it be the slave cylinder? Anybody have the same problem or some info about what could be wrong?

Thanks in advance

My '96 ex 5-speed is doing exactly the same thing. I have almost 70,000 miles on mine. I have no clue what it could be, it will be intersting to find out.

There is no problem, just give it a little extra gas when you first move the car and it will warm up quickly and be smooth again.

But it didn't do this 15,000 miles ago... why now?

Cars get old and lose the lburication over time, when stuff get olds it usually doesnt work better than it did when it was new, like he said b4, just give it more gas. You got to work with it.
