Default Tranny problems after/during b16 swap in 97 coupe

After my b16a2 swap i notice something disturbing.

After everything is bolted up and the gear change rods are in place and all is well i jump into my car to test the shifter.

It's tight and nice with clicking sounds from 1st to neutral to 2nd, so forward - backward motion is ok.

But let's say i put it in 1st, and then (while still in 1st gear) i can (without any force) flip the lever over to 3rd and 5th like it was in neutral. The same goes for 2nd or 4th.... And neutral. The lever can move freely from side to side in forward, middle and backward position.

Do you understand?

For reference i have not yet filled the tranny with oil, piopped in the axles or bled the clutch yet.

What is the problem? And what can i do to fix it?

Did you put the pin back in where the part on the shift linkage slides over the part on the transmission

Yes. A new pin has been driven into it and the clip is over it...

It's all mounted and bolted down correctly.

I got full ES bushing set for it.

It does not wobble. It's like it's in neutral while it is in 1st, 3rd or 5th... get it?

It's in gear, and can still be flipped back and forth like it was not in gear.

This goes for all gears.

(Forward backward motion of the lever (ie: 1st to 2nd) is ok though)

Something has to be wrong inside the tranny...

But what?
