when I shift into third during exceleration i don't even have to move it out of second because it pops out on its own, and if i downshift into second when i let off the clutch it will pop out! is there a cure for this or are my synchros shot, this is the second time in 52K miles it has happened, the first time i was lucky enough to have it fixed under warrenty. should i change fluid? use a different kind? or just replace the tranny! HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!!!1

lol. man im having that same problem in my EX. I really hate it when im slowing down and it pops out especially when i am not paying attention. Im not even bothering wit trying to fix it cause im just gonna ride it out for another month till I swap.

its your 2nd gear syncro,...if you can do tranny swaps then jsut get another tranny,...transmission shops will tax you badly,...even if you just go to them to see what is wrong with your tranny they will charge you for bench time

Have you replaced the oil in your tranny? at the very least make sure it is full. If you are low on trans oil that can cause you to pop out of gear.

Correct...but, it will normally begin to pop out of 5th before any of the other gears. Wouldn't hurt to check though.

indeed low oil in the trans usually does cause poping out of 5th gear, still one of the first things I would look at, if not just to eliminate oil as the problem.

what do you guys reccomend for for my transmission, its a 1999 EX. should i use honda MTF?? or should i use oil, and if so what weight and whatnot? thanks guys!!!

have you tried to see if you guys have bad trans mount. and always use honda mtf

would a bad mount make it pop out of second gear?
