They don't make Mobil 1 synthetic oil for HONDA trannys. Mobil 1 is GL-5 spec. It'll eat up your syncros and bushings. Hondas are supposed to run GL-4 lube only...

im running low on trans fluid right now, and since im doing the swap in less than a month, i'd rather not put "expensive" fluid in there. im posting this to verify if its OK to use 10w30

...spend a couple more dollars and get the good **** the first time...
Anyway, to wrap this up - this is what I use and recommend. Don't even bother whith anything else...
MT-90 in the summer and MTL in the winter. Or, MTL year around if you don't live in Arizona...

one and only, no replacement for the best MTF you can buy only $5 its not expensive
A specially formulated transmission fluid that offers superior performance in comparision to motor oil. Developed specifically for Acura manual transmissions, it has a special blend of purified mineral base oil and chemical additives to provide smooth, consistent shifting performance under all driving conditions, over a wide temperature range.

don't use synthetics - they are too slippery and do not give your syncronizers a chance to do their job...

Re: Tranny Oil for SOHC? (BlackDeuceCoupe)
Well it really depends on the condtion of your tranny. If you have a shot syncro (like I do) then Redline will be a little too slick and cause more harm than good. I found that out after I put Redline in. So I opted for Dextron Automatic Trans fluid. Now it's very seldom when it grinds, I highly recomend it!
