Well, my tranny died as of yesterday in my 98 HX (D16Y5) so i was going to do a swap for a D16Z6 tranny. I did a search but couldn't find any usefull info, my questions are:

1. Will i need anything else but the tranny and shift linkage?
2. I just put in a new clutch recently, will it be usable in the Z6 Tranny, i think its the same clutch for the Y8 tranny.
3. Will it bolt up the same, or do you need to do any other mods to make it work?

Most D-series stuff is interchangeable. A Z6 tranny should fit on your Y5 no problem. The clutch should still be usable, and I don't even know if you'll need the shift linkage. Should be a bolt-on operation.
