Default tranny help

i have a problem with my automatic tranny. it works but seems to go into 2nd rough. thats about it just 2nd. what could be wrong.

you can try changing the tranny fluid. when was the last time it was changed?
also, not to familiar with honda auto trannies, but you might want to search to see if it has a filter and if so, consider on changing that as well.

well it wasnt changed for a while honestly. BEcause i got it with the car new in 96, went threw 2 engines and still didnt change it today. car had 86 k on it. do u know if they have drain plugs? or hoe else could i change it. is it a easy DIY or should i take it to the shop.?

yes they have a drain and fill plug. no, you don't really need to take it to the shop to have it done. it's really simple, kind of like changing your motor oil.

pick up a book at a local part store, it'll show you step by step on how to change the fluid.

thanks guys, anyone know if a 96 sentra has a drain plug also?

and wats the fill plug?

all trannies have some sort of drain and fil plug.

the fill plug is where you add the fresh tranny fluid.

yeah, go pick up a repair manual.
