tranny gasket?
i recently ordered a d15b vtec engine and tranny, but to my dissapointment japanstarmotors decided to make me wait a extra week and send the two seperatly. i went to put the motor in yesterday and found out i didnt have the 11 bolts that bolt the tranny to the block or the tranny gasket, i went to honda and ordered the bolts, but they werent sure what i meant by the transmission gasket, i kno theres a metal gasket that goes there or im pretty sure at least, my dsm had one. and i was wondering if i couldnt get ahold of one, if there absolutely neccesary since they dont seem to do much besides keep dirt out of the bellhousing, (i could fab. somthing to keep that from happening at least on the bottom open area when the transmission is on). and i am about to make the 3 wire harness for the vtec wiring-what size wire should i use for this? thanks

Re: tranny gasket? (importlegions)
what are you talking about there are no gaskets there. The only thing that's close to the gasket around that region is hondabond where transmission housing bolts up to bell housing. There is no gasket between bell housing (tranny) and engine block it self.

Your talking about connecting the transmission casing (area with gears and fluid), to the transmission bell housing. Your pic doesn't pertain to what the question is for this thread. As this kid whats to know about a gasket between the connection of the engine and tranny. There isn't one.

there is a peice of metal, but it's on the bottom of the tranny where it's not covered by the block. It's too keep the **** out of there. I've seen alot of cars without it.
Talking about DSM removing AWD tranny sucks, lol.
