Tranny Fluid Change help
After draining the plug I took the 10mm bolt off the VSS to fill; I've done this on other trannies before, never this particular one. The sensor did not want to budge.
So then I took off the two 10mm that hold the sensor onto the sensor component on the tranny. I pulled and the top part came off exposing the sensor probe. Being desperate to fill the tranny I pulled off the little probe to see if I might be able to fill it, after seeing that I could not I put everything back together.
Two questions.
1) Could I have messed something up by doing that?
2) What's the fill plug size?
Thanks.

Re: Tranny Fluid Change help (ke98248)
I've already searched, even on majestic jerk.
I can't make out the part #, I don't have a socket set and would like someone to just give me the head size to the tranny fill bolt so I can go and grab that socket.

I'm going to the hardware store now to buy the socket, can anyone please just tell me the fill bolt size so I can get that socket?

Re: Tranny Fluid Change help (92'si)
It's defintely a socket bolt.
I think you might be thinking of the drain bolt.. which doesn't require a socket, and that's a 3/8 not 1/2.
The fill is pretty big, either 15/17/20 or something.

1) As long as you didn't fiddle with it too much, it should be ok. I've opened mine when I had no idea how to fill the trans fluid and its still good.
B) 17mm
If the whole VSS won't budge just keep trying to spin it left/right. Or tap it gently with a hammer.

Firstly, thanks for both answers.
It's on there good... I tried to feel under the vss to see how it's connected to the tranny... and it really feels like they are together as if they are one.
Thanks again.
