Okkk so My Transmission has a hard time getting into reverse for some reason. Then It started making a ton of weird noises, and I thought I need more/new tranny fluid. So I put about 2 quarts of 10w 30 motor oil because thats what my friend said. Everything was working all fine then The reverse problem came up again today. Theres alot of fluid around the base of my transmission so I believe its leaking fluid.
I was thinking of replacing it and Im not sure what transmission to buy to link up to my sohc vtec d16z6. People tell me its like a ys1? or is it the S20?
any info would be much appretiated

Yeah but I wanna mount the s20 I think because I read it has shorter gear ratios or something like that. Thanks for the info

what you want to look for is a stamp by the transmission fill plug. It'll either say A000 or B000, you'll want the B000 as it is the ex/si tranny. All 92-95 trannys are s20 and all 96-00 trannys are s40 i believe.
