tranmission problems - clutch?
there are a lot of threads about this. im pretty sure its the clutch but i just wanna make sure. its a jdm itr tranny with lsd. about 6k miles from me.. 25k miles from previous owner.
CAN go into gear with car off. clutch pedal feels soft, easy to push in. car ON, wont go into gear wat so ever.
so turned off car, put it in first, started and jumped like crazy, like its about to stall. then i try to move, its LOOKS like i was driving manual for the first time, hopping everywhere.
solution... i bled the clutch slave cylinder... clean, no bubbles, no leaks. took tranny off last night... the clutch looks ok but i havent taken the pressure plate off yet.
i already got a new clutch waiting with the throwout bearing and the other one... forgot the name.
any other bearings or seals i should look at while the tranny is out? dont wanna put the clutch in and find the same problem.
thanks

Id say its propably your clutch hydro somewhere, Otherwise id check your shift linkage make sure everything is tight, Sitting it might be in the right position to shift easily but when the engine is moving the linkage might move enough to make it a pain in the ***, Similer proplem happened to me so i put in some bew bushings and it all worked fine after that.

Worn shifter bushing can make it hard to shift worn out enough you wont be able to shift at all, There REALLY easy to replace, but if you have a soft clutch pedal theres something else going on there, Could be a bad pressure plate as well if your sure the system is good, Would cause the engine to not completly disengauge also making it very hard to shift. Im thinking its propably gonna be more along the lines of the pressure plate now that i think about it but thats just my opinion i could be wrong, PRopably not tho

well then if it is the pressure plate.. wouldnt it be the slave cylinder? like its not pushing out hard enough or somehitng to make the clutch not engage?

all fixed... on the clutch disc itself, near one of the springs, a metal piece broke off about three inches long and 2cm wide. left hte spring with a lot of play and the chunk was floating in the pressure plate.
the new exedy clutch and flywheel feel great and is a lot stiffer.
