Default Trading one of my AR15 for a stock 92 EG VX?

My friend and fellow gun nut has a Frost White 92 VX he's offering to trade me for one of my AR15s since he knows I've been trying to sell it and buy a cheaper to drive daily driver. He lost his license for dumb stuff, and can't drive for another 12-18 months and figures a rifle would be more fun for him, and the car would benefit me.

First off, the gun is flawless, but I have a few too many in the safe and it's time I put my idle investments to work. As a friend pointed out on my FB page, the amount of money I'll save DD'ing an EG over my Jeep (approx 10-14mpg avg, and 180-200 miles per tank) throughout the summer when the CRX is happily resting in the garage, will be enough to afford a replacement gun if I so desire.

Over all the EG is virgin and in OK shape inside and runs good as far as has been described to me. I know the EG needs a battery (I have an Optima red top in the garage from the dual battery setup I never put in my Jeep), brakes front and rear (big deal, I can do that) and the rockers are rusty to the point one shop in town said it's too bad to pass inspection. Now, let me point out this shop has failed almost every car I've taken to them for stupid stuff that other shops tell me are a non-inspection issue and nothing to even worry about.
However, I know that once the rockers are rotten the cancer spreads quickly and consumes the car. My dad's friend did a full rocker and rear quarter replacement on his '00 Escort GT, including repainting the lower half of the car for ~$600 and has offered me the same deal if I come help do the prep work. This is a win-win for me, as I always wanted to try my hand at body work and having someone to show me the right way is a win in itself.

I'm going over tomorrow to check the car our top to bottom and get some pics.

Any of you EG guys have thoughts as to what I should pay close attention to, other than rockers, bottoms of doors, and wheel arches?

Second post with pics from another forum:

I ran back over and took some pics. It's nothing pretty right now, but after rockers, wheel arches and a respray of frost white, she'll be a looker.
Stock D15Z1 with 178K

It REALLY needs a detailing though. I'll let the pics do the talking:

May need a new hood, this one's shedding rust every time I bang on it. lol

Definitely needs a passenger rocker:

The driver's side isn't as bad, but could probably use replacing also. And since I'll have to have it resprayed after the passenger side, i imagine it'd be just as easy/cheap to do them both at once.
