Traction Control problems
Hi guys, I did a quick search and found no topics in this forum for traction control issues.
if any body could help me i would be very appreciateive. Thankyou in advance
my car: 92 civic sir2 with B18C (soon to be turbo'ed in 3 weeks)
with the ignition on, all my TCS lights come on ok.
situation A: i start the car on as normal, i get about 30 seconds or so to choose wether i want TCS on or off, so i turn it off and, "tcs off" appears on teh dash. i drive away and after which the lights on the dash go away, at this point pressing the tcs button does nothing and i dont know wether it is on or off.
(i know its on, bcos it drives like **** under heavy acceleration compared to when its off)
situation B: i start the car as above, i can pick TCS on or off. I choose off, "TCS OFF" shows on the dash, i drive away, say 10 or 30 mins later, i can turn it back on... or back off if i wish.
I do a couple tests, and can really tell the difference between having it on or off... "off" giving me extra power and car seems to pull harder, but will wheel spin (obviously)
(on - very little wheel spin and car is noticeably slower)
(so this is all working fine how it should be)
only situations A or B happen, nothing else. i would think there is a short somewhere, but that doesnt explain the consistancy of situation A.
does anybody have any input? i want to keep tcs with my new set up soon, as i will want to keep traction on the sometimes icey roads. and then turn it off for 1/4 mile.
(i hope this makes sense)
thankyou

Re: (Zani)
Sorry to say not alot of us have dealt with TCS out here. Mainly because our cars dont come with it.
But like every problem start at the source, check everything you can that might be making it run bad. If you think it might be wiring check out its wiring, if you think its the module itself check out the module.
Sorry thats the best i could give you, good luck.
