Traction bar question?
I just bought a traction bar from one of my friends, that he had on his EM1 for a little over a year. One of my coworkers just told me that the fornt lower control arms on the EM1 and my DX are different. Does this mean it not going to work on my car?

Re: Traction bar question? (ek-j)
Yes im pretty sure thats correct, if i remember correctly Si's front lower control arms is ONE piece and dx is separate so it will not work.

And my car is blown so there is no point in putting it on right now.

99 DX front lower arm:
99 Si front lower arm:
99 Si/DX Knuckle:
The lower arms look fairly close. 51350-S04-A10 for the Si and 51350-S01-A00 for the DX, so they're definitely different part#s, but...
I'd check with traction bar manufacturer web sites and see what they say. If they only have 1 part for both Si and DX, you've found your answer.

The Si LCA is different than any other of that gen, so I wouldn't count on it working by glancing at the exploded parts view. Even between the Ex and the Si, which both have front sways, they are completely different in the endlinks and how they mount.

Re: (Blk00EJ8)
You guys are over analyzing this if there are like the rest of the traction bars out there The will bolt up to the wishbone of the strut. That means that the sway Bar the end links have nothing to do with the bolting position. All this isn't perfect though you need to know where they bolt in. Sorry your gonna have to get your lazy *** down there and look. Why did you pay for it if you didn't know? I would have told him ill buy it but you gotta help put it in lol!

Because I only payed $50 for it! If it doesnt fit, I can still flip it and make more than double my money. Thats why I didn't think twice before buying it.

Re: (Blk00EJ8)
This is correct (strut fork is Bigger)But if Im 99% sure on this bolt 16 in the Si and bolt 17 on the dx is where this will be bolted. The Sway bars are different but have no bearing on the traction bars. 50 bucks thats a steal i would have jumped all over that!

Re: (slvrcvc93)
hmm, i think something fishy is going on with my car. seems like my shock fork is too wide for the normal traction mount to work, like the fork is off an SI, but I DEFINATELY have a 2-piece front LCA like off a DX. I think im going to send some pictures to full-race. they were really great on the phone but everything they told me I already knew because ive been researching this for a WHILE! I guess thats the problem with buying previously hacked cars
