Default track results of my GSR

i just swaped a 96 J-Spec gsr in my 99 civic ex. its got power and potential of running 14's or at least a 15 flat. i ran 6 times at the track tonight but didnt get better than a 16.7 @ 85.76 mph. my launches is what was giving me bad run time. i cant seem to get a good launch. can anyone give me some tips? also note: i have 18" chrome rims(which im getting rid of now that ive got a motor) and a 4 puck racing clutch with a stage 2(i think) flywheel. any ideas or tips??

first post your time slip so we can see what kinda of '60 foots your pulling and your mph to see the potential.. The time your running is driver related and those heavy *** wheels.

My car pull's 13.9's all day long
jdm b18c (gsr) skunk 2 im, b16 tranny, short ram intake, apexi n1 catback, chipped p28, gutted interior on azeniz

If you can't hit at least a 14.9 at 90+ with a GSR in any Civic, you're a complete chump and should shoot yourself in and around the face. Even with full interior and a sound system on Winter tires I could put my brother's EG with USDM GSR (170+k miles on the engine) into the 14's without breaking a sweat.

thats so damn stupid maybe some people dont take this **** as serious as you do if he did he would have atleast put his steelies on instead of the 18's

but on a serious note my first time at the track was a 16 flat and thats with my d15b vtec coupe so somthing must be wrong ..just takes some time and youll get there..

Then why did he get the swap?

I'm sorry it's anyones fault that some random person posts and says i'm driving a 99 ex with a jdm gsr motor and i can't break a 16 flat, but i do have 18 inch chrome wheels.

Just practice your launch technique. You do need to loose those chrome wheels they are too heavy and no one should ever put chrome wheels on a civic. Its not a Impala or a Caprice. Good luck.

set your timing. change plugs/ wires. make sure you're not throwing any codes. 18" chromies alone will not make you run high 16s

Not only will the 18" chrome wheels slow u way the hell down because of their weight, but u r probably running super low profile tires. When u drag u want ur tires to have more give so u keep better traction. That's probably a part of ur shitty launches. Smaller wheels with thicker and better tires should help along w practice. Good luck!

Just practice on you're launch and get some 15's or 16's rims and you should see a big improvement. If that doesn't work , improve your motor. Good luck and have fun!
