Re: TRACK 1/4 mile (slotec)
try launching?
i mean **** you are complaining about your times and you arent even driving to your full extent. the only thing that is gonna make your car faster if you are rolling off the line is more horsepower.

is that possible? it would seem like u could only get wheel hop from launching

try lowering your psi to about 30 or lower, rev it to about 5-6k and slip the clutch. thats what i do and i pulled a 2.1 60 ft in my z6 W/ A CAI

Re: TRACK 1/4 mile (93ejay1)
i lowered it to 22psi and i was going to try launching the next go. it was my go at the light and they wouldnt let us go because it started drizzling. Also if i launched at 5-6 wouldnt i spin like alot, remeber its a single cam and my rev limiter is only 7500rpms.

Re: TRACK 1/4 mile (slotec)
I thought a perfect R/T was a .500, anything below that was a redlight. Or did you redlight on that run?
Anyways, work on your 60'. You get those times down, you will get your 1/4mile times down.

Re: TRACK 1/4 mile (slotec)
it doesnt matter the reaction time, your reaction time could be 10 minutes and you could still run 10's. But you shoulda launched from around 5k and slipped the clutch, but good job you would take out the EM1's

Re: TRACK 1/4 mile (Soccerking3000)
.500 is perfect rt at some places and at others its 0 or whatever. if you dump the clutch do it at 3.5k and if u slip the clutch do it at 5-6k. i use to dump the clutch at 3.5 but i would still get wheel hop so i stopped and now i slip it at around 5500.

Re: (darkshadowcivic)
check my sig.
im running a launch at 5700, 20-23 psi in the tires depending on track. cutting consistent 2.1 60ft with a best of 2.06. im also using the y8 tranny. what tranny r u running. thats the best thing ive done to improve times. i turned a personal best last year of 14.8 and that was still on the oem exhaust manifold and exhaust.

launch!! and run less tire pressure, like way less. I run 18-20psi for consistent 2.0 60ft times with street tires. Even better get some semi slicks or even full slicks if you are allowed (i dont know how the rules work over there)

I tryed 20psi yesterday from 24psi that I was running last week and I ran the same times, only at 90mph instead of 93 last week. There are many other factors that come into play though so I dont know if it was just the lower PSI that did it.

Re: TRACK 1/4 mile (slotec)
so you finally took your car to the track. it took you long enough. thats not bad at all for what you have. but i can't believe you didn't launch, i've seen you run on the street and you always seem to drop it at 3500 or something like that. o yea who was the gsr you ran? just wondering. neways keep workin on it and you might beat me one day. LOL

Re: TRACK 1/4 mile (Swapped_EG)
What you need to do is rev your **** up to 3k, and when u see the second to last yellow light on the "tree" you need to leave on that... Get your RT down to a .1
My last run was a 14.8 with 60 shot of spray... Worst thing i could of ever done... Now im rebuilding my damn motor... Oh, and i have a d16y8... well had... The sleeves are now blown... oh wait what sleeves i dont see any =P
