Default TPS wires....any help?

Ok, so here is the deal. This project has nothing to do with a honda, but since I am familiar with hondas I have decided to use a honda TPS on my current project.

I am using the TPS on a carbureted engine via a bracket that I fabricated to mount the civic TPS to my edelbrock carburetor.

I know the TPS runs .5 volts to volts at WOT. My question for the smart folks is....

What wire gets the constant voltage? And IIRC there are 3 wires on the TPS?? where do they go and what is their purpose?

Obviously I am not using an ECU...so I basically just need to know what wire I feed constant voltage to and what wire I use to get my variable reading.

Thanks guys!!!

So I'm guessing it's a 5v, ground, and the signal..? Which is which?

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by pdiggitydogg &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">You need to connect a multimeter to the tps and move the sensor around until the correct ohm specs are achieved.

With the TB closed, sensor disconnected, ign off:
Pins 1 and 2 = 0.5-0.9ohms
Pins 2 and 3 = 3.6-5.4ohms

You also need to be sure you have correct voltage, sensor connected, ign 'on':
Pins 1 and 3
0.5volts with the TB closed
4.5volts with the TB fully open</TD></TR></TABLE>

Based on that, Id say the 1st pin is the voltage, 2 is signal, 3 is ground.

if the tps is right side up, connector are facing left, 1 is the pin furthest from you
