Tps throwing cel?
Jdm d15b with z6 mani and d15b Tb. Throwing code #7 (7 fast flashes). I changed the tps from the usdm tb to the jdm tb and lined it up how the old one was. Car idles around 1k, runs and sounds good. Will the ecu throw a code if the tps isnt adjusted properly? , or if it is completly messed up? Thanks ejoner.

well if you go to honda youl fork out 700 for a new whole throttle body or go to a junk yard and give em 25 bucks and pull a whole nother used throttle body with sensors but first try adjusting your tps. towards the intake will give you a higher meter read out, towards your filter will give it a lower you want it at .000 to .099 throttle closed and 4.000 to 4.099 open what ever the case it must be at least a 3.550 span from open to closed but no more that a 4.000 span if you cant get it by adjusting tps you may need a new sensor iv got the same problem but iv go a perfect .000 to 4.000 span and still throwing cel code 7 and i have to "chase" the rpms with the throttle til i get past 3000rpms then i can smash on it. but ive got to get her tuned...

thats true testing t is the first thing you need to do but if its not throwing cel codes it may or may NOT be fine. test it haynes manal can run you thru testing it and you l learn stuff!. you can adjust the idle speed by a screw on top of the throttlebody it faces your intake filter (if its a stock TB). what mods do you have done?? another thing is to check the IACV plug make sure the sensor (if its attatched to your tb depending on make) to see if its secured snugly. next to check is if your tps is adjusted ie above. if you have done this and brings you nothing try this.. if you have mods like a new intake manifold and you did it your self it could be a leak somewhere find a buddy. get a can of carb cleaner have some one bring your idle up to where it will run smoothly and spray in small amounts around your intake manifold IN SMALL PLACES dont do the whole thing all at once what this will do is it will stall out your engine if you have an air leak and you an pinpoint where it is, and u can prb figure out where to go from there. if these fail its time to get someone to look at it if you have a motor swap let em see if youv got the right ecu, all the connectors are correctly installed and the right parts are on. another thing with the tps is different tps throw different signals and vary in how much play they give befor sending a signal to the ecu but then again be sure your tps is adjusted properly this will 75% of the time be your fix for sporatic idleing
