Default tps sensor replacement

I did a cearch and couldn't not find anything on how to replace a tps sensor. since my motor is not jdm, i know i have to cut slots in the rivits to unscrew it.but i also know that it's not as simple as take it off and put a new one on.from what i was told u have to measure ohm's at closed throttle on the old one,and set the new one at the same ohm level. but i want someone to go into alittle more detal for me if they would, plus it will help others in the future.

thank,

Pat

Basically you have the right idea.. you have to put the new one on and adjust it until it works perfectly without that annoying bogging... The measurement of the ohms idea sounds like the perfect way to adjust it.. find out what the resistance is at WOT and adjust accordingly by moving the sensor around.. I did mine without a multimeter and just moved it around until the motor revved up fine.. good luck

helms uses voltage to determine TPS value. There should be .5V at full close throttle, and 4.5V at full open throttle. You can measure this between D11 and D22 ecu terminals, if you are using an obd1 ecu. You can also measure between the yellow/white wire (+) and green white (-).
